Massive closure of restaurants in Gulf, UAE
Restaurants in the UAE are shutting down extensively due to the Kovid-19 crisis. Gulf News reports that restaurant licenses are being sold at higher discounts due to business losses.
To offset the economic losses that would have been caused by the closure of these restaurants that were closed on lockdown. According to UAE business sources, touca is difficult.
Only government-owned areas are allowed benefits, including rent replacement and no rent for three months. A large number of landlords have not made such concessions. This will accelerate the collapse of the Food and Beverages sector, an unnamed industry source in the UAE told Gulf News.
There are over 11,000 companies registered with Food and Beverages in Dubai. Of these, 40-50 percent are unlikely to work anymore, according to the report. Some of this has already stopped working. Less than 30% of food outlets (hotels, restaurants, and other food outlets) are currently open. Most of these are in malls. But there are restrictions on keeping them open.
Restaurants are sold in the UAE, despite the fact that Kovid remains open after being restrained. Currently, many expatriates, including from Kerala, run restaurants in the UAE. The government has restricted the number of people who can come to restaurants at one time. This can lead to losses even if they are open.
